So, you finally got offline and you're meeting IRL. Now what? We've got the tips to make that first date lead to a few more.
CHECK YOUR BREATH
A survey said 86 per cent of people said that bad breath on a first date was a deal breaker. That's an important figure to know. And remember to floss, too. Not cleaning between your teeth is one of the main causes of bad breath. Clean teeth and fresh breath are always a must—whether you get a goodnight kiss or not.
GET READY TO PUCKER UP
A study by the University of Louisville has shown that both men and women find plump, voluptuous lips attractive. You can keep yours looking and feeling smooth and kissable by sloughing off dry skin with a toothbrush or a homemade lip scrub like a mixture of olive oil and salt.
FOCUS ON THE FACIAL HAIR
Keep your beard clean and fresh by washing with a face wash or shampoo, but don't overdo it because you can strip the natural oils that keep your beard healthy and moisturized. Use a beard oil like Sir James Beard Oil to keep your beard soft and conditioned.
Clean jeans, button-up polo, and dressy sneakers are a good combo for a casual dinner date (and maybe a cup of coffee if things go well). Coming from the office? Make sure you have an extra long-sleeved top or polo so you can still look sharp after a long day at work. And, please, don't show up in a wrinkled shirt. Run a hot iron or steamer over it (or hang it in the bathroom while you shower!)
Keep them short and clean because people notice even the smallest details, and well-groomed nails are one of the things that will immediately give the signal that you pay attention to the little things.
We hope showering is a given, but just in case: shower, shave, get dressed and have fun!
